Casual Friday

I have looked long and heard to find a blazer that doesn’t make me look like I’m suited up for a football game. They seem to always add that extra stockiness to my body type. Blazers seem to look great on girls with thin frames or that extra few inches of height. That didn’t stop me from wanting one so desperately, because what girl doesn’t need a power suit?

I’ve heard that Banana Republic is a great place to shop for blazers, but haven’t previously had any luck given that my budget doesn’t let me spend $150 on a single item. Lo and behold, while strolling through BR Factory Store on afternoon, I stumbled upon this blush beauty… for less than $20! And it didn’t make my shoulders look square and was just the right length for me to feel comfortable. What a win, am I right?

While it took me forever and a day to find mine, I definitely think all wardrobes could use a dependable blazer. It’s such an easy way to add a layer of confidence to an outfit, whether it be for any work day, casual Friday, or perhaps even those happy hour drinks. I want to become more comfortable wearing a look like this on a regular basis. Minus the heels – I live in the mountains. Ain’t nobody going to be walking up and down hills in these shoes:)!

I’m on a personal hunt for a white blazer, but I’ve found plenty of styles to love at all price points:

What’s your take on Casual Friday looks, are you a fan of the blazer?

I am a huge fan of blazer and I love your blazer! It is a beautiful color and looks good on you! I also love your nude pumps.

  • That blazer looks fabulous on you! I love the length. I so agree with you about blazers. They look great on women with thin upper body frames, but for anyone who carries their weight more on the top half, not so much. I never look good in them either, but now I’m going to rethink it. I think all the ones I tried stopped short at the waistline, maybe a longer length is what I need too.

  • Yay for finding a good blazer–I love this one, both the cut and the pretty blush color!! While I’m definitely a blazer-lover, I do think it can be hard to find ones that work. So finding a good one ON SALE is awesome!

  • Very chic blazer. Love the outfit….you look so classic and stylish!

That new blazer is amazing (what a steal!) and in the IT color of the moment. I also love your clutch. Old navy has come up with some cute clutches lately and I must pick up this one. Also that blush Target blazer from your collage. By the way, your hair looks fantastic here.

Great blazers and jackets are hard to find but my favorite ones are from White House Black Market only when they goon sale and I have found nice ones from H&M. Come join my linkup with some of your latest pretty outfits, Emily. Thank you.
