Many, many times on here, I’ve expressed my love for t-shirt dresses. They are hands down my favorite type of dress simply because you can wear them in such a variety of outfits. This look is dressed up for a laid back engagement party, but I’ve also worn this same dress with tennis shoes for an athleisure-esque look.
Please note, this post has a special guest appearance in it:)
Isn’t my mom just the most precious thing? She really is as sweet as she looks. We were home visiting when these pictures were taken, and I coerced her into joining me for some:).
Even when it comes to going to a party like this, I am all about comfort. I honestly don’t understand wearing something you aren’t comfortable in. Wedges helped to dress it up a touch, and a super cozy cardigan made it weather appropriate. But the base of it? The t-shirt dress. I think I have dresses like this in 6-7 colors in my closet, all mostly neutral of course. When in doubt, it’s pretty much stress-free outfit planning to pull one out and build around it. I’ve linked some below from retailers I’ve gotten them from before!
On another note, if you know me well, then you know I’m a nerd. I’m a part of most fandoms that millenials like me can be a part of. And while I typically keep my obsessions low-key, I like to sport them in subtle ways. I’m a member of the Fandom of the Month Club, a monthly jewelry subscription in which each month features a different fandom. Past months include the classics like Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings, but I’ve also recieved boxes for the Chronicals of Narina, The Wizard of Oz, and most recently Beauty and the Beast. What I love about this is that the jewlery is often truly something I would wear – you wouldn’t know it’s representing a fandom unless you knew what to look for. Think you can spot the jewelry in this post? (If you’re a nerd/bookworm like me, make sure you check out this post on 10 reasons it rocks being a bookworm!)
