Apparently, I’m all for layering these days. I just think it looks so sophisticated, and who doesn’t want to look sophisticated every now and then? Besides- layering opens up a world of opportunities for so many articles of clothing, and that’s never a bad thing.
I definitely have more cardigans than I know what to do with, but I’ve come to realize that v-neck cardigans are my favorite. They seem to be ultra flattering and can be worn with a wider variety of shirts. They also look great with a statement necklace. Rounded neck cardigans seem to be a bit more girlie, which certainly isn’t a bad thing, but v-necks tend to be elongating. When you’re 5′ 2″, you can use all the elongating you can get.
This button-up is about a year old from the J. Crew Factory Outlet, and once again J. Crew doesn’t disappoint. Their button-ups are by far my favorite. They are always just the right length and don’t seem to give the same boxy appearance that others can. The pinstripe also makes me feel like a powerhouse. Maybe it’s because I’ll never have an office job and can’t imagine myself in a power-suit, having this subtle trait that could so easily be worn in that setting is a bit exciting. That probably is all in my head, just go with me here:).
Looking back at the pictures, I really like the look of the scarf with the outfit. Unfortunately, that covers up most of the layering! I’m all for added comfort and warmth, though!
