Well now, it has been a HOT MINUTE since I last posted, hasn’t it?? Between the first trimester, holidays, and just plain needing time to rest and breathe, the blog was definitely put on the back burner. Like I’ve mentioned before, I’m quite alright with it in that position – not taking priority in my life. However, I’m not ok with neglecting it… which I seem to have done. Whoops!
Like any blog, the writer has got to be passionate toward their topic and niche. I don’t remember the last time I bought new clothing that wasn’t out of necessity (ie: NONE of my pants fit. It’s leggings or nothing for me!). Right now? I’m passionate about pregnancy. The baby. Becoming a mom. The nursery. And how to best show off this little bump I’m starting to have;).
And as I grow into this new phase, I’m hoping this blog grows right along with me. I posted on Instagram the other day about the possibility of sharing a bit of the nursery design process, from my hap-hazard Pinterest board to the actuality of it along the way. Just like our wedding, I’m really wanting to put my own personal touches on it. I have an idea of what I want it to be, but haven’t found a picture that quite represents or captures that yet. I had a pretty good response to sharing that, so hopefully more will come soon!
It seems like a lot of real-life friends are also in this about-to-be-mamas phase, so I’m hoping to review some bigger items as well, or describe my process in researching what works best. If there’s anything I’ve learned so far, it’s that each mom has their own preference. A lot of what I will end up using and doing will be because my sister does that; it’s what I know.
As far as actual writing goes – book writing, that is – I am working on something. I actually was just starting a new project when I got pregnant… one that had to be placed on the back burner for a little while. The one that took its place is one I had planned on writing all along while pregnant, I just didn’t know when that would be.
Wanna know what it is?;)
So here’s the thing. It’s a devotional still, but it has a target audience. An audience befitting of where I am in my story right now. What I’m hoping it becomes is a compilation of nine months of prayers for mothers-to-be, one for each day. They are short and sweet, something that would take all of a minute of your time. It’s making me be intentional about praying for my little girl each day, and I’m hoping it can do the same for others.
Later this week, I’m hoping to share a midway update (whattt??!! How am I already there?!) and next week will kick off the first of the nursery posts! I’d love to hear what you would like to see more of on the blog. Let me know!
