Fall, How Do I Love Thee?

Oh Fall,

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.Darling, Dearest

But really, are you sick of hearing how much fall is loved yet? No? Good. Cause I’m legit about to count here. (And consider yourself warned, this list is overflowing with cliches.)

Darling, Dearest

One. The clothes. What kind of style blogger would I be if I didn’t mention clothes? Fall is the season where you don’t feel the pressure to constantly be assessing your food belly, where accessories are the main attraction, and when everything you wear has the cozy and soft factor. I see absolutely no weaknesses here.

Darling, Dearest

Two. The smells. Ohhhh the smells. I’m a candle-aholic (thanks to three years spent working at a Bath and Body Works), and there are few things that relax me more than the delicious smell of cinnamon, apples, or pumpkin in the air. Also, this is a great way to make your house feel homey for visitors. If we’re at the house- you can bet there’s a candle burning.

Darling, Dearest

Three. The foods. Yes, I am a sucker for pumpkin anything and everything. I’m also a sucker for pies, and turkey, and comfort food, and cider, and hot chocolate, and I just love it all. My pant buttons don’t love the food, but I sure do;).

Darling, Dearest

Four. The leaves. Gahhhh, the leaves. And the stars. Nature? That’s all encompassing, right? It’s all beautiful this time of year. The weather, the scenery – I don’t think any other season can really compare. On a slightly chilly, clear day in the mountains, there is absolutely nothing better to do than go on a hike.

Darling, Dearest

Five. The get-togethers.Football and tailgating, Thanksgiving… all sources of group get-togethers and entertainments, family meals included. We just get to be around the ones we love more this time of year. Who doesn’t love that?

Darling, Dearest

Those might be the most basic of reasons, but they truly are the things that make fall what it is, a favorite of so many people.

This dress is like type-A for fall style. You could literally pair it with just about any fall staples – fur vests, blanket scarves, over-the-knee boots, booties, even leather moto jackets. It’s my first cowl neck piece, but I definitely don’t think it’ll be my last! And it’s $10. There’s that, too:).

  • I feel like you could have written this for me. I love EVERYTHING about fall. The clothes, the food, the smells, the crisp morning air, the changing leaves… It’s my favorite.

Love this post! I’m more of a summer girl but I do appreciate fall especially when the leaves start to turn and the feel of them crunching beneath my feet. But I hate when it starts to become cold. I hear you about being able to hide the paunch with the extra clothes though. FYI, I love that dress on you – cowl necks are my absolute favorite! Looking good girl. You’re definitely ready for the new season. Xoxo

I’m totally the girl who loves them all. Each season has great qualities that I love, and I think part of it is the variety of them all!! I’m sure I could live in a state that was always warm, but I’m pretty sure I’d miss out on boots and sweaters (especially sweaters since I’m a knitter!)
I love my boots, but I’m totally waiting a couple weeks at least before I pull them out! (Of course you could call me a liar since I just wore them for a photo shoot—ha ha!)

  • Well I sure love that dress–swingy dresses like that are so perfect for this time of year too. I really like fall too–the clothes and the food especially. Spring is my favorite season, but now with a little one coming in the fall I think I’ll always be even more of a fan of this time of year!

  • Amen to every single one of these! I looooooove fall, for exactly these reasons — the wonderful scents, the adorable fashion, the nature/weather, the delicious food, and the time spent with family. It’s such a special season. And cute outfit, by the way!

  • That is such a lovely dress! It will be so easy to layr up more as it gets even cooler for you too, being such a nice neutral colour 🙂

It’s funny it’s spring here so I’m lookingforward to shedding all the layers! I do think scented candles are great year-round too!

    Hope you’re having a wonderful week 🙂
