Layered Sweater

This is not something that I typically wear at all. Collared shirts and I haven’t always gotten along. Especially back in the day when everyone and their brother wore a polo and if you were cool enough, the collar was popped. Not this girl, I skipped that fad. Now days, if they are more relaxed like denim or chambray, I have no problem with them. It’s when they get stiff or look like a businessy shirt…let’s just say we’re trying to address it.

This sweater itself is also interesting in that it came from a grab bag! My mom and I have always been fans of grab bags- just the surprise and anticipation of wondering what’s in it makes the bag worth it. occasionally offers grab bags from the White Plum boutique where you can choose your size and you will get around 3 clothing items and typically an accessory for less than $15. I have gotten their grab bag at least 3 times, and each time I find a new article to love that I wouldn’t have thought to wear! You can see another piece in this post. Highly recommend buying something like this-it forces you to try styles you otherwise wouldn’t, which emboldens you. [Shameless plug: follow me on Instagram or Twitter and I’ll let you know when they are selling them again:).] This sweater has the same pattern and comes in a few different colors and sizes for less than $15. I linked a few others below that I think would go smashing with a button-up under.

Did you see sweet Kyah in these? She made her first appearance yesterday. Tell me she’s not the cutest. [You can’t, because she is.]

These boots were given to be my a dear friend from his booth in a local store in Boone, Turtle Toes Footwear at The Shoppes at Farmers Hardware. His Facebook page highlights a lot of the super cute items in his booth- check it out! I love the scarves he has. [If you’re a local, his booth is in the smaller section to the far left of the store!] I didn’t realize how much I’d love having black riding boots until I owned them. I have other black boots- but the style of riding boots seem to transform an outfit, making it seem more polished and complete.

  • Oh a grab bag sounds like a great idea! I wish we had stores here that would do that!

I share your dislike for shirts, haha! I used to have to wear them to the office all the time and I hated ironing them. I’ve got a few more casual shirts now that are nice little or no ironing required material, and I like them a lot better!
