I don’t know if this is going to work, but I want to give it a try.
A community is a group of people sharing a particular characteristic. Blogging is most certainly a community. We ladies all have similar passions, whether it be for words or style or creativity or life. Generally speaking, if we met in real life, I think we’d be great friends.
The real [read: messy] side of our lives isn’t always shown on our blogs. There’s nothing at all wrong with that – but we all know that it’s there. A lot of us are teachers, many housewives, others marketing professionals. We live all over the country. Some are mothers, some are college students. Point is, we are diverse. But we’ve got at least one thing in common. And I truly believe we can make even more of this community than the cherished kind words we share in regard to posts and pictures.
I hold myself accountable best by holding others accountable. My faith has always been at its strongest when I’m pouring into others and walking side-by-side with friends seeking the Lord. Just hearing and speaking and reading words that the Lord has provided does so much good to help make me intentional about my thoughts and actions.
So, here’s what I propose: Let’s start a group. I’m not quite positive what this will look like. Maybe just an encouraging piece of scripture every so often. Or a quote, a song… any words that our hearts might need to hear. I want it to be a place where we can help each other take on life with the Lord as our guide. We can all share the words that linger. Like I said, I don’t know exactly what this will look like. I’ve considered email, a Facebook group, or a group text. If you are anything like me, your phone is with you constantly. And reading a text, while not always responding, is a fairly simple thing to do. It’s easy to come back to. And yet, a Facebook group is easy to grow.
If you want to know more about this idea, or have thoughts, advice, or concerns to offer, email me at email@example.com or use the contact form below. If you think this is something you are interested in or that your heart could use, I’d love to take on this with you. Let me know what type of communication would be the most beneficial and convenient. Even if it’s just two of us – we absolutely can’t do any harm in trying.
This could definitely flop. But I know I need a push to seek my Lord a little bit more and find the motivation to rely on scripture. I hate having to admit that I need motivation to do that – but I’m human, the enemy is fighting, and I do. Maybe you could use it to.
