Pastels and Brights

I don’t know if you can tell from these pictures, but it was like 20 degrees outside and incredibly windy during this photo session. Can I just say that my photographer is a champ? And it’s wonderful to be working with him again:).

We are deep in winter right now. And this snow-loving heart has actually reached the tired-of-snow level. We’ve had seven snow days in a row. Seven! I’m a huge fan of snow days, but I don’t love the make-up days that we have for them when summer comes around. And I especially don’t love my spring break being bitten into, which will probably happen soon. Andddd out of the five snow days last week, 4 were workdays. No snarky remarks on snow days being breaks for teachers, now;).

So, as I’m surrounded by winter and colder weather and not a ton of hope for it to leave anytime soon, my heart is craving the beach. And spring. And 50s and 60s. And, believe it or not, brights. Generally speaking, I don’t own a ton of bright clothing. The two colors I cave for? Coral and Mint. My spring and summer wardrobe is overflowing with those two colors. And I’ve decided it’s time to bring them out.

Button-ups aren’t always my favorite either, but when layered with a cardigan, I instantly like them more. This navy pinstriped button-up is classic and I wear it the most out of all I own. It’s quality, from J. Crew, so it lasts. With dress slacks, it would make a great outfit for work. For the weekend or casual Friday, jeans and Toms make it comfortable and laid-back.

Are you enjoying warmer weather, wherever you are? Or, like me, are you hoping for brighter days [see what I did there:)]?
