I’ve given myself the personal challenge to find a way to wear summer dresses during the colder months. This was trial #1 and it was made quite simple thanks to a super comfy, super fluffy cardigan. Is it just me, or is that the best kind of clothing? When you just want to cuddle up because what you are wearing is almost as cozy as your bed. Almost, but not quite. I’m not crazy, now.
This was the first day it got to the 30s in Boone, so it was the perfect time to pull out the Uggs! I learned to appreciate the warmth of Uggs my freshman year at App when I discovered the true meaning of cold. I’m slightly embarrassed to admit that I think I have 5 different pairs, with these being the newest addition. I also prefer youth Uggs; they seem to fit my foot better [and the cheaper price tag doesn’t hurt.]
I’m becoming rather fond of jewel tones this fall, and plan on combining them in as many possibilities as I can. The dress is from Old Navy’s summer collection, but this one is the same lovely color. It was my go-to for any function or get together. Add in leggings and an oversized cardigan and it’s set for fall! The cardigan is from Forever 21 last year. They seem to carry the softest cardigans, and still have many as comfortable as this one.
I have to admit, there is a piece of me that feels like this outfit swallows me. However, I think that can be slightly acceptable if the swallowing is done by cozy knits and the weather is cold. [That might be due to my cold weather uniform being baggy sweaters and leggings, consider yourself warned.]
