Spontaneity is a wonderful thing.
Impromptu adventures are slightly out of my comfort zone, as I kind of like to have a plan for when things are going to happen and truly LOVE down time to do absolutely nothing at all. However, when my husband and I were leaving the wedding we attended last weekend, we decided to be spontaneous for a change and take the long way home. This included stopping in two cities along the way, and between those, we went to 4 breweries, saw UK and Ohio State, ate at local restaurants, shopped a bit, and strolled through a farmers market. I love getting to enjoy local fare. There’s something so simply sweet about hole-in-the-wall restaurants or little local dives. Despite nine hours of driving, I would say that it was a splendidly full day!
This dress was perfect for that kind of day. It’s loose enough to be comfortable on a car ride, and it’s light and breezy, which worked well when walking around the different campuses. Still, it made me feel cute for all our adventures:). I love this deep teal color, but it comes in many others as well!
If we hadn’t have been walking around campuses, I probably would have worn my Lilly Pulitzer Wedges with this dress [linked below]. It’s perfect for a breezy summer day, but will be a great transition dress for Fall with a scarf and riding boots, and even with tights or leggings in the Winter!
I am [once again] wearing the same earrings I gave my bridesmaids from Banana Republic Factory. I’ve linked similar necklaces and earrings below! And if you love these bracelets [which I wear with EVERY outfit] you can order them here and support an amazing cause! This monogram necklace is my favorite because it isn’t too big or gaudy; just the perfect touch of gold. It came from CoraLee Boutique.
This day was by far one of my favorites this summer, and that’s saying something, as it was a huge season in our lives! It was an incredibly long day; there is no doubt of that. But to be able to explore and enjoy so many great places with my husband? That right there is such a blessing.
What have you done that’s spontaneous lately? What are the best cities you’ve visited? I’d love to hear your ideas, and add some planned spontaneity to our future:)
