Y’all, I definitely wanted to take these pictures in a really pretty field (or anywhere other than my front porch) but end-of-year teacher life leaves no time for activities like that. Between my husband’s banquets and fundraisers and my own longer afternoons, real life takes precedence over blog life. So, if you will, picture me on perhaps a plaid blanket in a park or at a winery, somewhere a dress like this deserves to be:).
You know those days when you just want to buy something to make you feel better about something else? That was this dress (and this hat, together). I put it on, felt like it was something I’d see Julia from Gal Meets Glam in, and decided I needed a pretty dress like that, that made me feel fancier or daintier or more charming than I really am.
It was a teensy bit of a splurge for me, but I rarely ever spend more than $20 on an item. If you’re a Boonie, the Lucky Penny has both this hat and that dress on sale right now, making the dress around $45. Splurge, yes, but I’m excited about the occasions in which I can wear it. I happened to find the dress online here and here, justtttt not on sale:/.
Word to the wise, though, never wear a dress that has a flowy skirt on a windy day. I wore this to a golf club for dinner, and I’m prettttyy sure some golfers got more than a view of the mountains. Everyone has a fashion mishap story, right? Share yours with me below, or at least make one up so I don’t feel alone;).
Happy Wednesday, friends!
