Not going to lie, Brett and I are complete suckers for how often we hear people say that they love the name, “Scarlett.” Goodness knows I’m the most indecisive person ever, so settling on a name was a full on challenge for us. This was one that we both just loved. Truth be told, it was originally on my sister’s list! She couldn’t use it due to friends, so we gladly stole it:).
You never pick a name that you just kind of sort of like. You pick a name that you love. One of the most common nursery decor pieces that I’ve seen is the name or initials displayed. And y’all, this just might be the cutest way to display it!

You guys, it’s a flat-out blessing. I swear, we know some the most talented people! Our friends Dawn and Allan moved up to North Carolina a few years ago, but Dawn actually grew up with my husband’s Mom. Al is a wood worker by trade, focusing on custom design pieces and custom cabinetry. He’s got a knack for making pieces that stand out. They surprised us with this gift for Scarlett for Christmas!

When I was designing Scarlett’s nursery, I mentioned that I wanted it light and airy, whimsical and romantic. This piece couldn’t fit that betterš! Lincoln has one in his nursery too, and I love that even though the rooms are as different as they can be, it so easily belongs in both.
And while I think it’s pretty dang perfect for a nursery or kids room, it definitely would be great as a part of regular home decor, too! A last name, “welcome,” or even words that you rotate throughout the year, depending on the season, would look absolutely darling. (Imagine a 5 letter holder, you could switch out the words ‘snow, love, fall, and peace’ as the year goes by!)

As far as pricing goes, letters are $3.50 a piece. They also offer a heart block like Scarlett has, or a block with North Carolina State on it! The Scrabble type holder comes in three sizes, to fit 5, 7, and 9 blocks. They range from $30, $42, and $54, respectively. Y’all for something, handmade, local, and frankly, this pretty? That’s a steal.
If you’re around Boone, they’re going to be selling them in West Jefferson on March 16th. You can also just shoot an email to kemblecustomcabinetry@gmail.com! Check out @kemblecustomcabinetryllc on Instagram to see more of Al’s workāŗļø!
