The Most Comfortable Shorts

YESSS Y’ALLL. Not many outfits these days actually make me feel slimmer (Read: like none). Actually, going shopping and trying on clothes has kind of become a battle with my self-confidence, which frustrates my husband to no end. Getting older, losing good metabolism… that stinks y’all.

But then I find a pair of shorts like these. That are cute and comfortable, and that hide all the bad parts. And then you find a shirt like this, that’s fitted but not skin-tight. And then you pair them together, and you stop worrying about the state of your stomach or how tight the shorts are on your thighs and you actually enjoy what you wear.

It’s not that my waistline is huge. Or that this outfit magically makes it disappear. I just don’t obsess over it in this, you know what I mean? I didn’t look at these pictures and cringe because of ones I couldn’t use because they were a hit to my self-confidence. And that’s a good thing.

I have been drawn more and more to looser fit shorts lately. Most of the time, they can be worn higher waisted, like these. They are easy to dress up or down, and easier to move in for those fun summer activities. Also, comfort. Why choose something else when these are more comfortable? This exact pair is from Target, and I was really tempted to get more than one color of them…. I still might. I think I need the burgundy and denim ones, don’t you?

I’d love to know what winning combinations you’ve found that help to take away your insecurities in outfits! The more inspiration, the better:)! Also, make sure you check out Friday’s post regarding peace; it’s worth a read!

  • Well, guess you need to check out my post today since I talk about my uphill battle with body image issues, lol. You look fantastic – those shorts are super flattering!

  • Ugh, the constant slowing down of the metabolism! We all fee your pain. But you ALWAYS look fabulous so I’m happy this outfit makes you feel fabulous!

Something that drew me to your blog in the first place was how natural and beautiful you always looked in your photos. I love how you just own your body because I’ve had my own struggles with body image and disordered eating and nothing makes me happier than seeing strong, confident women rocking their body.
I have the unfortunate triangle/pear body shape, so no boobs and a bigger bum/thighs. So dressing in a way that is flattering for me is always a struggle.
