My husband and I had the pleasure of attending the wedding of one of his closest friend’s this past weekend. We drove up early so Brett could join in on the bachelor party. That gave me the chance to spend some time with the groom’s family and help with the flower decorations. I love some good girl time and this was top-notch, complete with a bottle [or two] of champagne!

I even got to dance with the groom!
When we got the wedding invitation, it said that the dress was formal [definitely a smart move, as Brett and I were asked many times what the dress was for our wedding!]. I don’t think I had ever been to a formal wedding before, so I knew that I wanted to shop around for a dress to wear. I did some research to see what was appropriate and decided on a floor-length dress. Boone, the town we live in, has lots of precious boutiques, so they were certainly my first stop! I found this dress in The Lucky Penny and was automatically sold. I felt like it was made for me! Rarely do I find maxi dresses that aren’t outrageously long on my 5’2″ frame. The embroidery on top and material of the dress made it feel a shade nicer than normal maxi dresses. I was unable to find this exact dress online, but found other very similar dresses at different price points located below. Because the top was so extravagant, I decided to pass on most jewelry and just wore dangly earrings. My earrings came from Claire’s, and are less than $10! You can find them here.
