To Be Radiant at a Wedding

Weddings bring me JOY.
I love the atmosphere, the food, the decorations, the dancing, all of it. I love that people are gathered for one specific reason: to celebrate love. What a blessing it is to recognize God’s gift, to be able to revel in it and share it with those closest to you.

My husband and I had the pleasure of attending the wedding of one of his closest friend’s this past weekend.   We drove up early so Brett could join in on the bachelor party. That gave me the chance to spend some time with the groom’s family and help with the flower decorations. I love some good girl time and this was top-notch, complete with a bottle [or two] of champagne!
I honestly don’t know how long it will take for me to refrain from getting giddy when I see my new name written out. It might not make sense, but it make’s me feel sort of distinguished or something, you know, being a married lady and all ;).

I even got to dance with the groom!
When we got the wedding invitation, it said that the dress was formal [definitely a smart move, as Brett and I were asked many times what the dress was for our wedding!]. I don’t think I had ever been to a formal wedding before, so I knew that I wanted to shop around for a dress to wear. I did some research to see what was appropriate and decided on a floor-length dress. Boone, the town we live in, has lots of precious boutiques, so they were certainly my first stop! I found this dress in The Lucky Penny and was automatically sold. I felt like it was made for me! Rarely do I find maxi dresses that aren’t outrageously long on my 5’2″ frame. The embroidery on top and material of the dress made it feel a shade nicer than normal maxi dresses. I was unable to find this exact dress online, but found other very similar dresses at different price points located below.  Because the top was so extravagant, I decided to pass on most jewelry and just wore dangly earrings. My earrings came from Claire’s, and are less than $10! You can find them here

Um. Delicious.

Last but certainly not least, my handsome date and the photographer for To Be Gracious and Golden! <3

What do you love about weddings? The groom’s face when he sees his bride? The endless drinks? The little details? I’d love to rhapsodize over these things with you!

As I told you, I love weddings, mine of course and others. Going to weddings is so much fun and I am going to one this December, also.

I am looking back at some older posts of yours and I am so glad to do so. You look lovely. Such a pretty and dressy maxi dress. The top part is so unique. Your man is handsome too.

I must say that display of cupcakes is one of the prettiest I have ever seen and I have seen over a hundred since I have worked as an event planner for a few years. The lime green, baby pink and ivory work so well together. Pretty cake, too.

    • I am so glad you are going back through old posts! That makes me so happy:) This is one of my favorite dresses I’ve purchased. I can’t wait to find new occasions to wear it next summer! This entire wedding was full of delicate details and the colors of those cupcakes. It truly was beautiful!
