Wearing Bright Colors into the Fall

First and foremost, major prayers going up for Florida right now. I talked about about tragedies like that on the blog on Friday; be sure to check it out. It’s heartbreaking, what others are facing.

I’m typically not the kind of person that holds on to summer for as long as I can in the sense of the season itself – summer vacation is a completely different story. This time of the year, I’m itching for fall and warm colors and leaves changing and all things purple. However, I know so, so many hate to see summer (and the weather and bright colors that go with it) fade away.

This outfit is a great way to help blend those seasons. It’s layered for the chillier weather, but has the bright and fun Lilly Pulitzer pattern that so easily lends itself to spring and summer. It’s lightweight but large enough still to actually provide a little bit of warmth. It also works great with neutral cardigans.

You guys know brights aren’t really my thing… but this scarf is a happy medium for me. It is bright, no doubt, but it’s also shades of blue I own a lot of. I kind of have a soft spot for Lilly, too. The Lilly sale gets me every year with such great deals. This scarf is originally $98 (I KNOW!) but I got it for $30! Knowing that it’ll get used year after year since Lilly Pulitzer items never go out of style, I consider that a win.

This scarf happens to go SO well with my Sassy Souls Boutique bracelets!  It’s kind of like they were a match made in heaven. I really wanted to even pull out some fun tassel earrings with it but decided to let the scarf steal the show;).

I would be remiss to not mention how much I love this tank top. I have it in just about every color Old Navy offers. It is so comfortable, appropriate for school, long enough to cover your bum, and super affordable. It has become the base to SO many outfits over the last few weeks, both laid back and dressed up. I cannot recommend it more!

Happy Monday, friends! Here’s to a long but hopefully good week!

  • I love it! I’m kinda the opposite, I wear a lot of bright clothes so I always have to tone it down with scarves and accessories.
