One. My friend came home!!! I work with some of the greatest girls in the world, and two of them have been gone for the entire summer. We went from spending every day together to not seeing each other at all. One just arrived from Europe, and the reunion was absolutely spectacular! We kicked up our fire pit again, roasted marshmallows, and enjoyed the ever-beautiful mountain nights. Heaven, I tell you.
Two. Soooooo. I might’ve bought not one but two pairs of Jack Rogers this week. Boone Belles was having a 30% off sale, so I ended up getting both of my pairs for the price of one. And I might be a little in love with them:).
Three. Pumpkin. I don’t care that summer isn’t over yet, I’m already boarding the everything pumpkin express! Our house already has the addition of pumpkin coffee and pumpkin beer. I’m itching to put the pumpkin candles out.
Four. So, my husband and I went to listen to one of his old students sing at an open mic night the other night. And we sat near some other previous students of his, and he casually brought up Darling, Dearest. And, as he typically does, he led off with “do you follow her blog? She has an Instagram for it…” and so on and so forth. Now, I don’t know about you other bloggers, but talking about it in the real world means an INSTANT red face for me. I get super uncomfortable. After we got home, Husband asked why I didn’t want him sharing it. I expressed my never-ending discomfort in having an Instagram account devoted solely to pictures of myself… because that’s weird, right? Husband went on to say, “Emily. Stop that. That’s not what it is and you know it. You use your blog to share style, tasteful style. You use it to share your faith, your family. You’re teaching these young girls that they don’t need to be dressed like a floozy to be attractive. You’re the kind of role model they need.” Feels, y’all. All the feels.
Five. This giveaway! It runs until the 7th, so you still have a few days to enter. If you follow me on Instagram or Twitter, then help yourself to a few easy entries! I don’t know about you, but I could definitely but $1350 to Nordstrom to good use, amiright?
