This has been an eventful week! But a wonderful week, none the less.
One. I know it is cliche to say, but looking at the ocean always makes me feel so small in the grand scheme of things. I’m just a tiny piece of the puzzle, and there is so much else out there. Even with that, with all that around me, the only thing I need is my Jesus.
Two. We put up the Christmas tree. Don’t judge, it’s worth it. Brett and I are both very busy over the next two months and we want to truly be able to enjoy it! The rest of the Christmas decorations are still tucked away, but the tree we wanted to look at as much as possible. We’ve decorated Christmas trees together before, but something about this being our first married Christmas makes it all the more special.
Three. Veterans. I really don’t know if it’s possible to live in America and not know a veteran. Both of my grandfathers fought in wars, [one in WWII and one in Korea] and my father-in-law was a Marine. How can you not be proud to live in this country with such great men and women like that? How can you not be proud to call these guys family members?
Four. Girlfriends. I know I’ve mentioned them before, but my first job in education introduced me to a group of girls that changed my life. They helped me grow into my own. I am the youngest of the group, but that has never been a hindrance. They have shown me how to be mothers and independent and an individual and unique and down-right hilarious. They have helped me just plain grow up. And I love them for it.
Five. Building off of that, girls’ weekend. Every year, we take a trip in the fall and a trip in the spring. I love these weekends. They rejuvenate the soul and fill me with more laughs that I’m sure some people have in a year. We are currently on this trip, and I’m soaking up every minute of it.
What made your week?
