How to Make Camo Look Classy

Ok, so I originally chose this dress to wear to a rivalry football game at our local high school. Kind of as a gag. But y’all- I really like it. It’s the most comfortable fabric, it’s long enough and has a high enough neck for school, and it’s actually kind of cute! Don’t judge me Boonies, but I totally plan on wearing this outside of the once-a-year Watauga/Avery game.

Camo is so in right now. I’m seeing it more and more frequently on style blogs in various ways, be it tee-shirts, bomber jackets, pants and more. Truth be told, I’m really itching to add more of it to my wardrobe. This dress was a great way to increase my comfort levels and start the addition process:).

Five Ways to Wear Camo

One. Add an edgy vibe through leather accessories, like a jacket or shoes. This tones down the country vibe that it can convey.

Two. Make it have a feminine shape. Wearing a more fitted look or adding a belt to create a waist adds an instant girly touch to an outfit.

Three. Kick up the country with a jean jacket and cowboy boots. While this does increase the southern-ness, it just seems to make it look so cute!

Four. Make it casual. Add sneakers or a loose jacket on top or wear it with a pair of boyfriend jeans – any of these things help bring a normalcy to it.

Five. Pick the right type of camo from the get-go. The type that looks like actual trees on a shirt? No. Stay away from that. Get the more abstract looking camo, much easier to style!

Are you on board with this trend? I’d love to see the ways you’ve styled camo! Add your link in the comments:)!
