More than Me

Natural Life has done it. Again. Just when I think I can’t like the company any more than I already do, it convinces me to with something like this.

Let me introduce you to More Than Me. A line in the Natural Life Give Back Collection that works to support a struggling education system in Liberia. Liberia, a country where 65%  of primary school aged children don’t attend school. Where over half the population aged 15-24 is illiterate.

More than Me itself is a nonprofit organization working to empower girls with safety, good health, and education at a young age. With its foundation in the More than Me Academy, a k-6 school for girls tuition-free, it continues to support the girls through 12th grade. This school provides the complete package – everything these girls need to truly thrive in modern society.

I can try to describe the impact this school is making, but their own website has all statistics laid out that say it so much better than I can. You can hear from the girls themselves, comparing the school to “a shelter” and “a flowing river” because of the ways it has changed her life. Students qualify to attend based on need, and most come from one of the most well-known slums in Liberia. They even paid special attention to girls who were orphaned due to Ebola.

Please just click around their website. It will be a wake-up call, as it was for me. More than Me was formed because of one girl. A girl who was selling herself for clean drinking water. Something I can walk to my sink and get in seconds.

This is why I love Natural Life. Because it chose a nonprofit like this to work with and support. While this coffee mug looks super cute and has an inspirational message on it, the best part about it is the purpose it serves.  It makes you want to go and meet those girls and give them each one of these trays and say, “You are this. You are all of this.”

So, in your gift giving and shopping this season, browse this Natural Life selection. See if you can give someone a gift that is a gift to many more than just them. (For all you teachers, or parents with kids that have teachers, this is a great mug for a teacher gift!)

*Thank you, Natural Life, for partnering with me on this post! All opinions are 100% my own.
