Today is a special day on the blog! I’m collaborating with some lovely friends and bloggers to share our New Year’s Eve looks! I love that each and every one of the girls chose to style this holiday so differently.I think we can all agree on one thing: New Year’s Eve is the perfect excuse to add some flare. I love them all! Be sure to check their pages out for more outfit inspiration:)
[Thank you, Ada, for putting this together!!]
For my look, I went with the no-fail for NYE: sequins. I don’t own a ton of sequined items, but the ones I do are great for making a statement or pulling out at that special occasion. Lately, I’ve had a thing for comfy sweaters paired with cute skirts.
I hate that this skirt is old, or else I would tell everyone to go out and buy their own right now. It’s a taupe silk with black sequined lace on top and I truly believe that combination would look good on everyone. Black tights are perfect under it, but doesn’t look bad on its own either. I alternate between this skirt and a black and gold floral skirt when wanting to be a little fancy [or when we decide to actually go on a date to somewhere other than a sports bar or brewery]. They can just be paired with so many tops for so many occasions!
Adding in a fuzzy sweater keeps me warm when it gets chilly at night and helps add a bit of modesty to an outfit. I live in a small town as a teacher – I can never go out dressed like a typical girl in her twenties. This sweater was a recent T.J. Maxx find [if I could have a crush on a store… it would be T.J.Maxx] but Target carries one just like it! Combining textures also seems to throw in another little fancy element. Skirts like these would also look great with a basic white or black sweater. You could add some extra fun in cobalt blue or bright red!
Have you planned out your New Year’s Eve look? Any big plans?
